Aquarius Marine Services (AMS) was asked to deliver an intermediate captain by International Transport Contractors (ITC) of Heemstede. On the anchorhandling tug supply vessel ITC Cyclone a captain was needed for March to April 2012.
The ITC Cyclone had obtained a long time charter for BP offshore Angola and needed to be modified for her next assignment. The vessel was to be modified to be able to assist shuttle tanker with mooring and heading control during FPSO offload operations as well as diving maintenance operations. The modifications were planned in Walvisbay, Namibia and would be coordinated by an ITC superintendent and a third party.
The first assignment for Aquarius Marine Services (AMS) to deliver an anchorhandling captain was for International Transport Contractors (ITC) of Heemstede. On the anchorhandling tug Typhoon a captain was needed from September to December 2011.
When captain Jan van der Sluis joined the vessel, he found the 1976 built Typhoon in the same good shape as he left her 11 years earlier. The Typhoon was operating from Den Helder on the offshore spot market; available for assistance in the offshore or anywhere required.
